Itinerary and highlights of Safari Great Adventure
Day 1 Safari Great Adventure – Arrival Dar es Salaam
Our driver awaits you at Dar es Salaam Int. Airport and takes you to your hotel in the city. Depending on the time of day you will have the opportunity to explore the surroundings, enjoy the view of impression of an upcoming Africa City or do some shopping before your trip to the wilderness.
Day 2 Safari Great Adventure – Dar es Salaam – Mikumi National Park, Game Drive
You will be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam and drive to Mikumi National Park. Already on the way to the park you can see giraffes, antelopes or the in the south typical yellow baboons beside the main road. Giraffes, zebras, various species of antelopes and gazelles, as well as wildebeests and Cape buffalo are very common here. The park is also characterized by a high lion population. In the afternoon you experience the first game drive in the national park, which was founded in 1963.

Day 3 Safari Great Adventure – Mikumi National Park, Game Drive
As soon as the morning sunbathes the surroundings in vibrant colors, you set off on an early morning game drive. Hippos cavort in the waterhole and crocodiles wait for their prey on the shore. In the shade of the tamarind trees, you will see some impressive elephants, buffalo, antelopes, and zebras.

Day 4 Safari Great Adventure – Mikumi National Park – Nyerere National Park
Today is scheduled for the transfer from Mikumi to Nyerere National Park . You will leave the National Park in the morning and drive via Morogoro to the Uluguru Mountains. On the way you will pass a green forest area and the open savanna with impressive sandstone rocks and reach the entrance gate of the Nyerere National Park in the late afternoon.

Day 5 Safari Great Adventure – Nyerere National Park , Matembwa Gate
After a good breakfast you drive to the Nyerere National Park. After a short drive you will reach the nature reserve, which covers 5% of Tanzania’s land area. The savanna landscape with palm oases is located at an altitude of 300 to 500 meters. Acacias, baobabs, and palm trees alternate. The African fauna with giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, sable antelopes, lions, and many other animal species are an unforgettable experience for the visitors.

Day 6 Safari Great Adventure – Nyerere National Park, Boat Safari, Game Drive
In the morning you undertake a boat safari on Lake Manze. The lake is fed by the Rufuju River, it is the lifeline of the Nyerere National Park and reminds with its numerous branches of the Okawango Delta. By boat you will pass hippos, crocodiles, and colorful bird breeding colonies. The birds either breed in the reeds or have drilled their home in the steep bank wall. In the afternoon you undertake another game drive.

Day 7 Safari Great Adventure – Nyerere National Park, Game Drive
You spend another day in the beautiful landscape of Lake Mwanze. In the morning you will go on a game drive. Always keep your camera ready, as the Nyerere National Park offers a wealth of good game viewing opportunities. Along the lakes crocodiles sunbathe on the shoreline. The hungry hunt for fish, lions lurk in the thicket and hippos loudly express their displeasure.

Day 8 Safari Great Adventure – Nyerere National Park – Dar es Salaam
After breakfast you will leave the National Park and pass many small villages until you reach the tarmac road. You will reach Dar es Salaam in the later afternoon.
