This Tour “West Uganda a la Carte” is the perfect decision if you like to discover the western part of Uganda without rough. West Uganda a la Carte

Day 1  Arrival Uganda – Kampala
Our driver will pick you up at the Entebbe Airport and bring you to your first accommodation. Depending on the arrival time you have the have a chance to visit the city of Entebbe or the botanical garden. There is also a possibility of bird watching during a boat trip on Lake Victoria (Pre-booking only).

Day 2 West Uganda a la Carte, Kampala – Fort Portal
After breakfast, drive on well-developed roads towards the Fort Portal. On the way you get a first impression of Uganda. You drive through small villages and enjoy the view of the lush vegetation and the ever-changing, hilly landscape. After a short photo stop at the equator you continue to Fort Portal the destination of today. Once you reach the huge tea plantations you will know the Lodge is nearby.

Day 3 West Uganda a la Carte, Crater Lake at the Ruwenzori Mountains
A magical view over the Ruwenzori Mountains and the Kyaninga Crater lake is waiting for you from the terrace of your room. Today you will have an opportunity to go for a walk around the Crater Lake. After that you can relax and enjoy the swimming pool or go for a boat ride to the bottom of the lake. If you rather have a look at Fort Portal and visit the local market our driver is ready any time.

Day 4 West Uganda a la Carte,  Fort Portal – Semliki National Park
At the lodge there is an early breakfast before you start the drive to Semliki National Park for a game drive. The approximately 220 square kilometer National Park with over 300 different trees species and more than 400 different bird species is a paradise for birdwatchers. Elephants, buffalos, chimpanzees, hippos and various antelope species live also in Semliki National Park. The hot springs are another attraction since there is a female and a male spring.

Day 5 West Uganda a la Carte, Semliki National Park – Kibale National Park
Early in the morning you will start your drive towards Kibale National Park. Enjoy the view of the snow-covered Ruwenzori Peaks and the valleys with the green meadows. After passing through the amazing area with plenty of crater lakes you will reach your lodge near Kibale National Park.

Day 6 West Uganda a la Cart,  Kibale National Park, Chimpanzee Tracking
At the meeting point you will be introduced to some regulations for the chimpanzee Tracking. After you will follow with your experienced ranger guide the footsteps of the chimpanzees into the jungles of the Kibale Forest National Park. The silence is interrupted by unknown sounds of some birds. The chimpanzees are also talking loudly. With a little luck, you will soon discover the first primates! Watch the chimpanzees as they play, eat, lull, cuddle or even mate.

Day 7 West Uganda a la Carte, Kibale Forest NP – Queen Elizabeth National Park
Today you continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It lies at the foot of the majestic Ruwenzori Mountains, right on Lake Edward and Lake George. The lakes are connected by the Kazinga Channel. In the National Park you can do unforgettable Game drives and enjoy most wildlife Africa has to offer. There are numerous lions, buffalos, hyenas and of course the only in Uganda occurring Uganda Kobe Antelope. The view over the Ruwenzori Mountains offers the perfect panorama photos from your vacation.

Day 8 West Uganda a la Carte,  Queen Elizabeth NP – Ishasha
In the morning, when the air is still fresh, embark on another game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Especially the elephant population with about 3000 animals is impressive. Around noon you start to travel to the southern region if the park. Ishasha is famous for tree climbing lions and has a lot more to offer. The area is one of the last secret spot for game drives un untouched landscapes in Uganda. There are also other big cats like leopard, plenty of Hippos, Elephants and Topi Antelopes.

Day 9 West Uganda a la Carte,  Ishasha – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Today you start for a long drive into the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. There you will observe the endangered mountain gorillas and thus contribute to the protection of these unique animals. Since the Gorilla groups have been accessible to tourism, stocks have recovered significantly. Each family is carefully guarded and their names are like Otaka, Elsa or Nyakina will soon be known to you as well.

Day 10 West Uganda a la Carte, Bwindi Gorilla Tracking
Today is the absolute high point of your Uganda trip! Both mountain gorillas and chimpanzees live in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. This forest is the only one in Africa that can provide this. As you progress along the wooded slopes, tangled vines and bamboo plants into the dense jungle, you will learn a lot about the fascinating giants. The experienced guide will show you traces of previous gorilla activities. For example, nests, manure and nibbled bamboo shoots. Enjoy these unforgettable moments with the gorilla group.

Day 11 West Uganda a la Carte,  Bwindi – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
A particularly scenic drive is on today. After breakfast you will drive toward Kisoro. Winding roads with great views of the green terraced mountains and Lake Bunyonyi with its 19 islands lead you to the small town at the foot of the volcanoes.

Day 12 West Uganda a la Carte, Volcano Ascension or Batwa visit
Today you have the possibility to choose your activity. For active people there they have an opportunity to climb one of the volcanoes Mount Gahinga. After about 4 hours of ascent you reach the crater rim and enjoy the amazing view of the crater and the surroundings. Alternatively you can visit a Batwa community. Here you will learn a lot about the Batwa traditions and their original way of life. Or you may use the day to relax in the beautiful garden of your lodge and watch the colorful birds.

Day 13 West Uganda a la Carte,  Kisoro – Lake Mburo National Park
Today after breakfast drive to Lake Mburo National Park, the second smallest Park in Uganda. Numerous rocks and hills alternate with small valleys. The dominating animals in Lake Mburo National Parks are Zebras and Waterbucks. Near the borders the long-horned Ankole Cattle’s present. In addition to these animals you can also see Impalas, Reedbuck and different species of monkeys.

Day 14 West Uganda a la Carte, Lake Mburo National Park – Entebbe
Lake Mburo National Park is one of the two parks in Uganda where walking safari is allowed. Together with an experienced ranger you will follow the footprints. Your ranger will explain the signs animals leave behind. It is particularly exciting to see the wildlife from an pedestrian perspective. Animals appear much larger and without the noise of the car you might see birds you would never discover during a game drive. At noon you leave for Entebbe.

Day 15 Departure day / activities of your choice
Depending on the time of departure, after breakfast you will have the opportunity to take a guided tour to the Botanical Garden with a large collection of trees from all over the world. Alternatively you could go for a boat tour on Lake Victoria with bird watching activity. With a little luck you will see the very rare prehistoric Shoebill. Then depending on the departure time for your connecting flight to for example to Zanzibar or home flight our driver will bring you to Entebbe Airport.
